MOVICOL Junior – Lemon Lime
Directions (Children/adults 2 years and over)
Not recommended for children under 2 years of age.
Can be used by adults however for those 12 years and older we recommend the adult range of MOVICOL.
Constipation / Chronic Constipation / Prevention of Faecal Impaction:
- Children aged 2 – 5 years:
Usual starting dose is one sachet daily. - Children aged 6 – 11 years:
Usual starting dose is two sachets daily.
Dissolve the contents of one sachet in 62.5mL of water (about ¼ cup), stir well, then drink it. Do not exceed the stated dose.
Drink plenty of water. Increase fibre in diet except in cases of medication-induced constipation.
Notes:
MOVICOL Junior dissolves into a colourless solution.
Store reconstituted solution in a refrigerator and discard any solution not used within 24 hours.

Also contains potassium acesulfame and lemon-lime flavour.
Warnings
Keep out of reach of children.

MOVICOL Junior is for use in children/adults aged 2 years and over.
Use in children should be limited to 12 weeks except under medical supervision.
Do not exceed the maximum daily dose.
Prolonged use of laxatives is undesirable and may lead to dependence.
If pregnant or likely to become pregnant, consult a doctor before use.
Do not take MOVICOL if your doctor has told you that you have:
- an obstruction in your intestine (gut)
- a perforated gut wall
- severe inflammatory bowel disease, like ulcerative colitis, Crohn‘s disease, or toxic megacolon
- paralysis of the bowel
- an allergy to macrogol or any of the ingredients
The fluid content of MOVICOL when re-constituted with water does not replace regular fluid intake and adequate fluid intake must be maintained.
Laxative products such as MOVICOL have the potential to interact with other medications, by altering their absorption.
Close monitoring of the effects of the medications may be necessary when patient starts or stops taking MOVICOL regularly.
It is important that the patient should discuss this with the doctor. If the patient is pregnant talk to the doctor before taking MOVICOL.
If the patient needs to thicken fluids in order to swallow them safely, MOVICOL may counteract the effect of the thickener.
