Directions

1. Take the patch out of the packet and remove any additional protection from the patch.
2. Immediately apply the patch to a washed and cleaned area of hairless and dry skin that is free from creams and lotions (including sunscreen or insect repellent). The upper arm, chest, abdomen or hip can be good spots.
3. Press the patch down firmly for 10–20 seconds with the palm of your hand. Then run your fingers around the edge, pressing firmly so it sticks.
   DO NOT: check if it has stuck by lifting the edge as this may make it come loose.
4. After 24 hours, remove the patch and apply a new one on a new area of skin.
   DO NOT: apply a new patch to an area of skin you have previously used for at least 7 days.

• Quit Now Program:
  Stop smoking and apply one patch daily according to the program below:
  • NICOTINELL STEP 2:
    • If you smoke 20 or more cigarettes per day: Then move to Nicotinell Step 2. Use for 3 to 4 weeks.
    • If you smoke less than 20 cigarettes per day: Then move to Nicotinell Step 2. Use for 6 to 8 weeks.
• Combination Therapy:
  If you have relapsed in the past or you experience cravings while using Nicotinell Patch or Gum on its own, you can combine the use of Nicotinell Patch with Nicotinell Gum 2mg. See enclosed leaflet for full directions.

Warnings

Do not use if:

• You are under 12 years of age
• You are a non-smoker or an occasional smoker
• You have a generalised skin disorder that may complicate patch therapy (eg. generalised psoriasis or chronic dermatitis)
• You have an allergy to nicotine or any component of Nicotinell Patch
• The sachet seal is broken

Do not use without your doctor’s advice if:

• You have had a recent heart attack or stroke
• You have angina (chest pain) that is not well controlled or getting worse
• You have severe arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat)
• You have uncontrolled high blood pressure

Consult your doctor or pharmacist before use if:

• You are under 18 years of age
• You are pregnant or breastfeeding
• You have severe high blood pressure or other heart or blood vessel disease
• You have kidney or liver disease
• You have diabetes
• You have an over active thyroid or adrenal gland cancer
