Surgical Basics Head Lice Nit Comb 1. The “Surgical Basics Nit Comb” is a fine-tooth comb designed to remove head lice and their eggs (nits). These combs are effective when used with a wet-combing technique, where the hair is wet and a conditioner is applied to make it easier to comb through.

To use, apply a lice treatment (shampoo or conditioner) following the product instructions.
Then, while the hair is wet, use a wide-toothed comb to remove tangles.
Next, separate hair into small sections and comb through each section with the fine-toothed nit comb, starting close to the scalp and moving towards the ends.
Wipe the comb on a paper towel after each stroke to check for and remove lice and nits.
Avoid Use on Broken Skin.
