Most people think nasal congestion is solely due to mucous blocking the nose – however a big contributor to that ‘blocked up’ feeling is a swelling of the tissues lining the nose.
Increased mucous production, coupled with swollen nasal passages both contribute to give the tissue box a good workout during most colds, as well as hayfever and allergy season.
It’s important to treat our nasal passages kindly and not blow our nose too hard, or expose them to too many chemical sprays and decongestants to avoid inflaming the delicate tissues further.
Uncap inhaler. Holding one nostril closed, put the end of the inhaler close to the opening of the other nostril and inhale the vapours. Use as often as required to refresh the nose.
Eucalyptus oil, lavender oil, oil of wintergreen, peppermint oil.
