MOVICOL Sachets 30s – Lemon Lime
Directions (Adults & Children Over 12 Years)
Not recommended for children less than 12 years of age.
For children less than 12 years use MOVICOL® Junior.
Constipation:
1 sachet daily, increasing to 2 or 3 sachets daily if necessary.
Faecal impaction as diagnosed by a doctor:
8 sachets a day for a maximum of 3 days.
Dissolve the contents of one sachet in 125mL of water then drink it. Do not exceed the stated dose.
Drink plenty of water. Increase fibre in diet except in cases of medication-induced constipation.
Notes:
Store below 25°C.
MOVICOL dissolves into a colourless solution.
Store unused reconstituted solution in a refrigerator and discard any solution not used within 24 hours.

Also contains potassium acesulfame and lemon-lime flavour.
Each sachet contains 187mg of sodium, 26mg of potassium and 14.1mg of benzyl alcohol.
Warnings
Keep out of reach of children.
Always read the label. Use only as directed.

Do not exceed the maximum daily dose.
If you have a heart condition do not take more than 2 sachets in any one hour.
Prolonged use of laxatives is undesirable and may lead to dependence.
If pregnant or likely to become pregnant, consult a doctor before use.
Do not take MOVICOL if your doctor has told you that you have:
- an obstruction in your intestine (gut)
- a perforated gut wall
- severe inflammatory bowel disease, like ulcerative colitis, Crohn‘s disease, or toxic megacolon
- paralysis of the bowel
- an allergy to macrogol or any of the ingredients
The fluid content of MOVICOL when re-constituted with water does not replace regular fluid intake and adequate fluid intake must be maintained.
Laxative products such as MOVICOL have the potential to interact with other medications, by altering their absorption.
Close monitoring of the effects of the medications may be necessary when patient starts or stops taking MOVICOL regularly.
It is important that the patient should discuss this with the doctor. If the patient is pregnant talk to the doctor before taking MOVICOL.
If the patient needs to thicken fluids in order to swallow them safely, MOVICOL may counteract the effect of the thickener.
