Nicotinell Chewing Gum Nicotine 4mg 96 Pieces – Mint

Directions

There are two programs to use:

• Program A: If you would like to stop smoking completely:
  1. Use one gum when you feel the urge to smoke. Do not exceed 10 gums in a day.
  2. After around 3 months, gradually cut down the amount of gum you chew each day.
  3. When you are down to 1-2 pieces per day, you can stop using Nicotinell Gum. This should be possible within 6 months from the start of treatment.
• Program B: If you cannot stop smoking completely before starting the program:
  1. When you feel the urge to smoke, you may chew one gum slowly instead of smoking a cigarette.
  2. Gradually increase gum use for up to 6 months, while cutting down smoking. Do not exceed 10 gums in a day.
  3. When you have cut down the number of cigarettes you smoke to a level you feel you ca nquit completely, follow Program A above.
  4. If you have not cut down the number of cigarettes you smoke each day after 6 weeks, see your doctor or pharmacist.

Chewing Technique:

• To get maximum effectiveness it’s critical you follow a “chew and park” method for at least 30 minutes
  1. Chew one piece of gum slowly until the taste becomes strong
  2. “Park” the gum between your gum and cheek to absorb the nicotine
  3. When the taste has faded, repeat the process for up to 30 minutes

Ingredients

Active Ingredient per gum:
Nicotine…4mg

Contains Saccharin and Saccharin Sodium.
Contains Sorbitol, Xylitol and Mannitol – total 0.4g/gum or 4g/10 gums.
Product containing these ingredients may have a laxative effect or cause diarrhoea.

Contains 11.5mg or 0.5mmol Sodium/gum (equiv. to 115mg or 5mmol/10gums) which should be taken into account by those on a low sodium diet.

Warnings

Do not use if:

• You are under 12 years of age
• You are a non-smoker
• The foil seal is broken

Ask you doctor or pharmacist before use if:

• You are under 18 years of age
• You are pregnant or breastfeeding
• You have uncontrolled high blood presdure
• You have a stomach ulcer, kidney or liver disease
• you take insulin for diabetes
• You have an overactive thyroid or adrenal gland cancer

Do not use unless a doctor has told you to if:

• You have had a heart attack or stroke
• You have circulatory problems
